Time Travel: Time to Travel, Time from Travel, Time and Travel

Another 2 weeks back in the Bay, feels nostalgic each time.  Going home to familiar faces and places, yet it’s short-lived excitement and feelings, and then it’s time to go and move on…again.

Time Travel: weather always seems so cold like I’m going back to winter when it’s suppose to be mid-summer there.  It actually ended up at 100+ degrees when I left, whoa!

Time to Travel: luckily I already booked my flight to SF to be in my close college friend’s wedding or else I don’t think I could have gotten that time off easily, and 2 weeks at that.  A downfall of being a newbie on the job, not a whole lot of seniority nor say in the workplace.

Time from Travel: coming back home to Honolulu…does it really feel like home?  Quite a few events kinda shaken and turned me.  I moved here for myself, but now things happening back in CA makes me question, it’s not always about me…

Time and Travel: Life is too short.  You only live once.  Just do it.  As you grow older, you’ll find the only things you regret are the things you didn’t do.  Where’s the next destination?!

Gloomy and dreary is the color of the clouds.  Yuck, how did I ever survive this kind of weather before?

There are still honest people!

My flight change this morning had caused a spiral of random events.  Random things happening to me is probably a normal thing…I guess good thing I’m not klutzy or I’d be in real trouble!  Or am I?  The airline was offering a direct flight from HNL->SFO later at 1pm instead of 7:15am (HNL->LAX->SFO) and $300 flight credit.  Sweet deal!  Not to mention my initial flight was free via my air miles :D .  I couldn’t pass on the offer so I had about 5 hours to kill.  I rather be in Hawaii than stuck at LAX for the 3 hour layover.  My friend picked me up and we grabbed some food and headed to a beach park near the airport.  I must have just been chattering on and on (as usual).  I didn’t know I dropped my wallet until we drove to Hickam Beach and was about to check out the scene.  I walked out the car and felt my pocket was missing something.  Yikes, my wallet’s gone!  I swear I had it when I bought the Liliha “no sugar” coco puffs.  I panicked a bit as I had my IDs and all my debit/credit cards in there.  How was I gonna board the plane back to SF?  Luckily I had my passport stashed with my laptop bag but the thought of starting my trip with such bad luck…not good.  I searched around and nothing.  It must be in the park!!!  A homeless guy walked past us earlier wanting the soda cans when we were done with it.  What if…

My friend drove us back to the park but with the speed limit inside Hickam, it took a lil longer.  Hmm, my mind was veering, thinking of all the banks I have to call to cancel my cards, and I won’t have any credit cards to use in SF.  Right after, my brother calls me, “You lost your wallet?  Some guy called and said he found it.”  He gave me the guy’s cell number.  Just as I call I see two maintenance guys on the side as we drove into the park.  One guy picked up his cell as my call went thru.  Whew, he had it!  I went to meet him and got my wallet back, all cards and cash intact.  I looked thru the cards, how did he ever know to call my bro?  I pulled out my Hawaii ID, and on the back it had printed, “In case of emergency notify:”  Indeed an emergency and the guy was a lifesaver!  I <3 Hawaii, there are still honest people!

Live, Life, Love

Today’s entry is dedicated to the happy couples around me.  Your existence, experiences, and stories of found happiness and everlasting joy are admired.  The butterfly feelings, the sparkles in the eyes, the warmth of the touches, the sweet sounds of the voice, and the longing feeling for one another…  It’s wonderful to know that there is still honesty, trust, communication, care, dedication, faith, and support you give to each other.  Your stories changed the way I feel about living, life, and love.  I’m happy to witness those happy moments and being a part of your life.  <3

3 Degrees of Separation

In Hawaii it’s “3 Degrees of Separation”.  Someone knows somebody’s so and so…and we’re all Ohana here :) .  With internet, cell, and social media, we’ve never been so close, connected, in touch, TMI, LOL, %$&*#@! and more.

I wanted to say Mahalo to Jenn L.  I met Jenn via a tweetup food event.  We became facebook and twitter friends after that.  I followed some of her status updates on her company and saw they had job openings.  I was in transition with my career/work and decided to inquire about it.  I got an interview and another, and did get the job offer.  Prime example of social media, networking, small town Honolulu, and knowing good people.  \m/

I “used to be” an artist

For those that don’t know me, I “used to be” an artist.  I drew from visual things such as picture, scenery, and still life.  The charcoal hadn’t touched paper for a long long time, maybe like 2+ years now.  What’s changed?  Busy, no time, no inspiration, no creative juice…and many other reasons.  But I have a new hobby and talent – photography.  I’d consider myself good, you be the judge…^_^
